My Uncle Bob owned a full-service ENCO station in Corpus Christi, Texas, back in the 1960s when a station owner made their money on garage bays — not so much on the gas at $0.21/gallon!
This was long before the current model of self-service Convenience Stores selling fuel. I’m not sure what he would think of today’s Retail business, but I know, just like successful operators of today, he was focused on taking care of his customers and providing them with the goods and services they needed.
Back when I was a 16-year-old hot rodder, getting free gas at his station, I never imagined I would end up in the fuel business like my Uncle Bob, but I think he would be happy to see me continuing the family tradition.
Bevers & Co. has been actively involved in developing, marketing, and deploying Strategic Fueling Solutions for the North American Downstream Petroleum industry since 1995. The company specializes in combining practical technology solutions with streamlined work processes to drive efficiencies and reduce costs in the marketing and distribution of fuel.
